Your first day at the Walt Disney World resort can set the mood for your entire vacation. Want to have some fun on your first day? Follow these great tips, and you’ll be enjoying your Walt Disney World vacation in no time. Nothing sets the tone for your trip like having a great first day.nnAfter a long day (or days) of traveling, you might consider spending your first day in Walt Disney World at your resort instead of going to a theme park. I know, I know, you may be itching to get to some rides, but many options at the resorts can be very relaxing and set a great tone for the rest of the trip.nnTake a dip in the pool, or explore your resort. Many of the Walt Disney World Resorts have won awards for their spectacular design and you can have a fun day just exploring your resort grounds. There are opportunities to shop and participate in activities on your first, restful day in Disney.nnNow, if you are short on time or just can’t imagine resting when there are theme parks to play in, then head straight for the parks. Keep in mind, though, that the Disney theme parks are a marathon, not a sprint. Pick a major attraction, and grab a FASTPASS for the ride. The FASTPASS will allow you to come back at a later time and enjoy the attraction with little to no wait.nnNow, with a shortened wait in line, you’ll be able to slowly take in all the magic around you. At the Magic Kingdom, spend some time reveling in the smells, sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A. At Epcot, take in a fountain show with dazzling water effects set to music. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enjoy one of the crazy performances by the many “Streetmosphere” characters. Or, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, walk down some of the lesser known animal trails and see what you can find.nnTop off your first Disney day with something that provides true Disney magic. Maybe take in a nighttime spectacular, or have dinner with Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey’s. It’s an eating experience put on by the Big Cheese, himself, and it’s sure to please. For a slower pace at the end of your day, try a relaxing ride on the monorail or maybe try some of the shops in Downtown Disney.nnWhatever you decide, know that your magical vacation has just begun and you’re going to have a fabulous time!
