If you have children, the ability to earn money from home is the answer to your prayers. You will no longer experience anxiety attacks when one of them gets sick or has a day off from school. No one cares if you get to your laptop a few minutes later than usual in the hectic morning hours. If overtime looms, no problem. You can work once the kids have hit the hay. All in all working from home is sweet.rnrnAnd then hard cold reality hits. For every work at home mom, this is called summer. The kids are underfoot all day and want to play and want you to play with them. No more can you drop them off at day care and go back to work. You will be called upon to fill sippy cups, play-hide-and seek, turn the channel constantly to the next cartoon fare or make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You will also be the chauffer to take them to the park, to the pizza parlor, to McDonald’s and to the Kiwanis Club carnival down the street. By their bedtime, once you have done the dishes and straightened up the house a bit, you are dog tired and ready for bed yourself. It’s enough to drive a sane mom nuts. To save your sanity, I offer the five following pieces of advice.rnrn1) Get up earlier than your kids to read and respond to emails. Then don’t even look at your email until lunch time. It is amazing how much time emails can take out of your day. If you are not a morning person, learn how to become one. You need these early morning hours to update social media sites, blogs and do your email.rnrn2) Eat Breakfast with your kids for your first break of the day. The main problem with kids underfoot while you are trying to do your work is their lack of concentration inhibits yours. You need to spend time with the kids during the day and do your work in between
