Chocolate Recipe Homemade Gifts

Have you been trying to find just the right present to give to a family member or friend, but just have not been able to find one that fits both your wallet and the sentiment that you would like to depict. I have always loved giving gifts that are from the heart. The person who receives these presents always appreciate the fact that so much thought has gone into it. Not only that, but in today’s economy we can all benefit from finding more economical ways of gift giving. nnRecently I was struggling to come up with just the right present for a friend of mine. Anything that I could afford just did not seem to portray the sentiment that I had wanted to share. That is when I came up with the idea to make her a chocolate recipe box. nnBeing a cooking enthusiast I have always been fascinated with the stories behind the recipes in my recipe boxes and cookbooks. Each one began somewhere. Each one of them has some sort of a story behind it. WasDid it come from an aunt who was special to you in your childhood? Or was it perhaps concocted by military wife who wanted to make a special meal for her husband before he deployed. nnOne of the most common threads weaved through my family is the chocolate recipe. As I was looking for something special to give to my friend as a gift the idea of a chocolate recipe scrapbook box came to mind. I later found out that this was one of my friends favorite gifts given to her because of its creativity and the sentiment of being given a gift that was made from the heart.nnIn the [box|container I included quite a few of my favorite recipes, pictures of my friend and me at a barista sipping hot cocoa, a few mason jars filled with the ingredients to several of the recipes that I had included. I adorned the exterior of the box with some of my chocolate recipe favorites, then filled in the rest of the space with some pictures of rich chocolate delicacies and covered it with decoupage. After receiving such an passionate response from my friend I came up with some more ideas of gifts that I could put together using my favorite recipes. Recipe books can be put together using your favorite word processor then printed and spiral bound. Or, instead of a cookbook make a memory book, or a scrapbook. nnOften families have recipes that have become an integral element in their family history, passing down recipes and the tales revolving around them for many years. Others are now just beginning to cultivate family traditions.nnIn any case making a personalized gift is sure to be a huge hit. As a chocoholic myself I cannot envision anybody who would not absolutely love a chocolate recipe box as a gift. But for those of you who are not quite as fixated with chocolate as I am, feel free to use any of your favorite recipes. nnWhether you are making this present for a relative, co-worker, or friend, it will without a doubt be very well received.
