Annual Honor Dance and Spring Celebration at MSU Dome

A 20th Annual Honor Dance and Spring Celebration (Pow Wow) at MSU Dome on April 24 to April 25, 2009 that is sponsored by the Native American Cultural Awareness Club. There will be an Educational Presentation from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on April 24 and on April 25 there will be Grand Entries Competition Pow Wow from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.nnThe Native American Cultural Awareness Club is created to promote an awareness and sensitivity to Native American Indian culture and people. They provide a venue where the members will be able to participate in cultural activities to gather more information about their culture. It is for the members to understand their ancestors way of life and see the difference of the lifestyle between the two different times.nnThe Native American Cultural Awareness Club holds a bi-weekly club meeting at room 305 in the Student Center for every school year. Native Americans and non Native American can join the club just as long as they are students of the Minot State University students. Members and students who are interested to learn about the Native American Culture are welcome to attend the meetings. nnThe Honor Dance and Pow Wow are usually held on April during the Spring semester. But before this activity the club holds different activities to help fund the event. There are foods fund raising like the Indian fry bread and taco sales. There is also a raffle draw that will feature Native Specific Cultural Items like the Star Quilts, beaded moccasins, etc.nnFor this year the 20th Annual Honor Dance and Spring Celebration will be held at the 500 University Ave W, Minot, ND, Zip ” 58707. The festival will not only be selling native crafts and arts but there will also be a Womens Jingle Dress Special. This event is a Cassie Rensch Memorial Special. Vendors are invited to attend the event, there will be a space fee of $100.00.
