Proper Way of Removing a Roll-N-Lock Tonneau Cover

By: Karl Cruz

There are different manufacturers of truck bed covers, or what is popularly referred to as tonneau covers. One of these many manufacturers came up with the Roll-N-Lock system of tonneau cover. Its main attraction is that it can easily slide into the container on the back of the truck bed so that it can be easily opened and closed.

Roll N Lock tonneau cover is considered very convenient for truck owners because it adequately protects the cargo in the back of the truck. It locks to both and tailgate and rails of the truck bed. This kind of tonneau has the benefits of both soft and hard tonneau covers. It is made of interlocked aluminum slates that are covered in durable black vinyl.

However, if there is ever a need to carry a bulky load and such does not fit with the installed Roll-N-Lock tonno, it can be easily removed. One only needs 30 minutes to finish doing it. One needs an assistant to do it though; it could get awkward having to do it alone. A Phillips-head screwdriver is also needed. So, how should one go about it? Follow these instructions properly.

First, open up the tonneau then slide it into the box. This box is in the forward section of the truck bed. Then, time to use the Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the shield of the cargo from the front of the bed. Only use hands to pull out the drain tubes out of the factory grommets.

Next, open the tailgate and remove the extrusions from its top, again using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Then assist this gadget with hands in removing the cargo nuts, which is located on the backside of the tracks, which is on the sides of the truck bed. Then the rails need to be taken off the sides of the bed.

Third and last, the assistant will come in handy and make him take position on another side of the truck by the cab. Simultaneously, with both hands, lift out the housing assembly at the forward section of the cab from the bed.

One can always call on the customer support of the online store where the unit is bought in order to get proper instructions in removing this kind of tonneau.
