The hospitality field is filled with Italian cooking jobs from the small mom and pop restaurants to larger corporate venues. You need to know where to look and what you as a cook or chef bring to the table.
Breaking into the Italian cooking industry is not that hard if you have a special passion and zest for the ingredients that make up a superb Italian meal.
For beginners, your best suggestion is starting out with the basics of Italian cuisine. Make sure you are well versed in the traditions and the various dishes that come from every region for the help If you do this, you will have that much more of an edge when applying to a larger company.
Don't limit yourself to only learning about one Italian cooking style because there are many to ascertain. Considering every restaurant around the globe traditionally sticks to one role, it is imperative to educate yourself on what that entails.
You also have to ask yourself what is your main objection. Do you want to work abroad or in the states? Depending on what direction you choose, you will have to specialize so that your skills fit into a certain desired niche.
