Is Acupuncture The Magic “Stop Smoking” Bullet?

Ignorance can no longer be blamed for smoking. There are just loads of warnings about the dangers of cigarette smoking. No smoker can actually justify his smoking habits with ignorance. In fact even the cigarette packs have warnings. There is a need to stop smoking but this is pretty hard for a lot of smokers. One of the most effective ways to help you quit smoking is a complementary therapy called acupuncture.

Acupuncture is an old Chinese therapy that makes use of needles. More than just a pain buster, acupuncture is now an effective way to help smokers quit smoking. Those who have already tried quitting but failed can relate to the difficulty of cutting back oneself from this addictive habit. There are even those who already quit trying to stop smoking because nothing seems to work.

Acupuncture For Smoking Quitters

Acupuncture may just be the solution. Acupuncture uses needles with varying lengths and sizes. These needles are pricked on the skin. The purpose is to stimulate the body. It targets the meridian or the points in the body that helps energy to flow properly.

For the purpose of quit smoking procedure, the needles are injected in areas where the energy flow to the mouth, lungs, respiratory system and the brain. It targets the part of the brain that is responsible for the nicotine craving.

There are studies conducted to test the effectiveness of acupuncture in stop smoking process. Results show that, indeed, this complementary therapy has helped a number of smokers quit smoking permanently. The result; however, is not achieved overnight. Acupuncture is not the magic bullet for quitting smoking. There is no magic bullet actually. Stop smoking is a gradual process and in time, the results will be visible.

Acupuncture may be effective but still the determination of the person to actually quit smoking is what matters most. Acupuncture is simply a complementary therapy. When a person decides that, once and for all, he is quitting smoking, acupuncture will be able to help him. Unless there is a desire from a smoker, there is no way smoking can be stopped.

Along with acupuncture should be the own efforts of the person. Acupuncture helps lessen the craving for nicotine but it still the responsibility of the person to actually control himself when that little craving left attacked. In conclusion, acupuncture, along with your own desire and effort, will be the solution to your smoking problem. These three should all go together.
