How to Find Great Ideas on Your Next Bathroom Remodel

By: Kain Black

Finding great ideas on how to remodel your next bathroom can be easy and fun. Start by looking at new home subdivisions where model homes are available for review by potential buyers. These homes are built to look attractive and to present the modern look of bathroom designs. The cost of the bathroom will be relative to the price of the home so a good idea about cost can be obtained by touring the model homes.

Once you have gotten an idea of what is available it is time to contact some bathroom remodeling specialists and interior designers to show you what can be done with your bathroom. Contacting a professional construction person and an interior designer to meet with you together will give you some phenomenal suggestions.

Another potential source for bathroom ideas is to tour houses that are open for visitors because the owners have decided to have a real estate open house.

The big box stores often have bathrooms made up for display so that they can sell their products and ideas to you. This is a good way to see what is available.

Many bookstores sell bathroom remodeling books to give buyers an idea of what kind of bathroom products can be bought. Many booksellers offer these books and they are great idea books that cost very little compared to the investment that will be made.

Home remodelers and home interior designers are great sources for bathroom remodeling ideas. They have probably completed many remodels, and they may have made pictures that they can share with you. This is a way to get some very good ideas about the workmanship and the designs.

Obtain references for completed work by the contractor and the designer so that you can see first-hand what their work looks like, and you can discuss with the references their likes and dislikes. Certainly most contractors and designers will give you their best references, but you will still have a chance to visually inspect their work.

Certainly a contact with any licensing bureau in the state or county would be helpful to ensure that there is not a plethora of complaints against either the contractor or the designer. If complaints have been filed, then itís important to understand why the complaint was filed and how it was resolved.

There are nationally known complaint lodging organizations where a dissatisfied customer can file a complaint against the contractor or the designer. Read these very carefully before believing them, because it is too easy for some customer to lodge a complaint. Most of these sites do not check the complaint or verify its authenticity. If a homeowner finds a contractor they like but they also find complaints on one of these web sites, then approach the contractor for their side of the complaint. While these web sites have a useful purpose they can be abused, and they can cause a contractor to lose a lot of business.
