Getting Rid of That Body Hair for Good

By: Martin Curtis

Even though some people find body hair attractive, this certainly doesn't go for everyone – and for the most part, modern trends dictate that having your body clean shaven is the best way to look. Of course, shaving all that body hair can quickly turn into an incredibly annoying chore, especially if you've got a chest that resembles a jungle. Not to mention that it can make things uncomfortable for you on a regular basis, as that hair growing back can really make everything uncomfortable for you.

Depilation is an alternative to shaving, but it's far from perfect as well. Not only does it take longer, but you'll also have to endure quite a lot of pain during the process too. After you're done depilating your hair, you'll also need at least one full day for your skin to recover and stop burning. It does last significantly longer though – after depilating your body hair you can expect the effects to last for several weeks before the hair starting to grow back. But then you'll have to subject yourself to all of that pain and discomfort all over again, so it's really best to use this on single occasions where you need to look good for some social event like a pool party.

Laser hair removal is the solution to all of your problems – it's pretty much the best solution for hair removal that we have right now. It's very close to a permanent solution too – although hair removed with a laser will eventually grow back, it will be an extremely slow process, and the hair will not be as thick as well.

That's because laser hair removal doesn't just get rid of the hair itself, like all other hair removal procedures do – it burns it in its follicles. These are basically the roots of your hair pieces, so it's obvious why your hair doesn't grow back after destroying those. As great as laser hair removal is overall though, it does have its disadvantages. First, it's very slow – typically the laser has to burn every single hair individually, which can take a very long time. And while you may not notice the laser doing its job at first, after an hour or two of laying there, that burning sensation will start to get really, really uncomfortable and you may need a break.

The other downside is the price – laser hair removal is not cheap by any means, and you'll need to make sure you can afford it before you get started. Nowadays it's pretty easy to get a discount from the various cosmetic studios that perform laser hair removal though, so just keep an eye on the websites of a few of them if you aren't in a hurry. Sooner or later you should spot some attractive deal and be able to get your hair removed professionally without having to worry about repeating that treatment all over again just a few weeks later. Your body will thank you too, with the skin being able to breathe so much more easily!
