Get OST to PST Conversion Utility to Overcome from Exchange Error

By: Jack Hilton

The Microsoft Exchange client-Server email environment is quite popular and very much in-demand by professionals across many corporate houses and business organizations of the wide world. Even though this server client system is very much amongst these global organizations, still the issues of the occurrences of error messages while using it continue to haunt its users frequently enough.

Consider a Real Time Situation
When you try to connect the Exchange 2003 client to Exchange Server 2003 through MS Outlook email application, then you come across this type of message that states: ‘Exchange is currently in recovery mode’. This particular type of error message pops up in situations when either the cached MS Exchange Mode has been enabled and running or in the case where the user’s mailbox has been shifted to some different organization using Exchange Server only. In both of these cases, the signature of OST file fails to match the Exchange Server database signature of the new firm. Such issues can be resolved through following tried and tested ways:

Try Disabling the Cached Exchange Mode
If you see in this case that the Cached Mode of Exchange has been enabled and at that time, you are coming across such an error, then it is suggested that you should disable this cached Mode of Exchange. For disabling the Cached MS Exchange mode, you need to follow the following steps as given below for your reference:

Go to Tools menu

From there, go to Email Accounts > View or you must change the existing Email Accounts

Now, click Next for continuing the process

Here, you need to select the “Change” option

Disable the option given for “Use Cached Exchange Mode” option under the MS Exchange Server

And then, restart Outlook application

You are done!

Try Creating a New Outlook Profile
In case of organization’s change, if you try connecting your older profile with new Exchange Server, then you are most likely to face issues with the access of OST file because in this case, the OST file signature of this server and that of the new Exchange Server will not match. Still, you make a fresh start by creating a new Outlook profile. You need to follow the instructions provided below for creating a new profile of Outlook:

First, Go to the Control Panel > go to User Accounts > go to Mail

Then, select “Show Profile”

Now, click “Add”

Here, type the name you wish to give to this profile

And after that, click ‘OK”

Follow on-screen given instructions for completing the procedure
