Hoskote taluk is a rural district 25 km away form bangalore city, consists of 5 hoblis which are sulibele, Anugondanahalli, Jadagenahalli, Kasaba, Nandagudi.
Hoskote consists of 34 Grama panchayats , under it 333 villages covers 54,857 hectares of land and depends on agriculture as their prime occupation. Apart from agriculture, they also do horticulture and bee keeping. i.e. they mostly depend on Forest for their occupation. Bee keeping is considered as rural industry and 49 villages with 226 bee keepers do the business maintaining 358 bee colonies(i.e apiaries cerena indica).Government is also encouraging the business by providing different measures as well planning various programme to uplift them.
There are two government apiaries of artisan training institute, one at taluk panchayath premises in Hosakote town and another apiary at adarsha grama yojana, Sonnallipura.
Presently, people become literate and growth of industrialization in around it thrown new opportunities for them.

According to 2001 India census, Hoskote had a population of 36,333 where Males are 52% and females 48% of its total population. Its average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 65%. It consists of 12% of its population under 6 years of age.

Hoskote is a prime destination for birdwatchers and parasailers. Parasailing is done in the dried lake bed which is used for the purpose. It is the prime location for the shutterbugs due to its scenic beauty of its villages.
The peoples here are very religious and cultured. During Chaitra Poornima, an annual Karaga and the Avimukteshwara Jatre are held when more than 10,000 people gather here to become the part of this big occasion.

Hoskote consists of many temples like Avimukteshwara, Varadaraja and the Vithoba temples in the old fort area as well kote anjaneya swamy temple, shrines of Nagather pet Kashi vishweshwar (Nagareshwar), Kashivishweswer & PrasanaRameshwar at Brahaman Street, Maravva and Venugopala, Saibaba Mandir and the Panchamukhi Vinayaka Temple etc is located here.

Town consists of four mosques and a private garden near the fort, and a Dargah of Sailab Ali Shah is present who used to survive 200 years ago and the Urus is held in the month of Bakrid.
A church called Mar Thoma church is also located here, which started in 1946.
The other famous place which are proximity are Kaiwara ( Chintamani Taluk, 40 km from Hoskote on the Chintamani road), Shivarapatna ( Malur Taluk, known for its rich culture of sculptors and sculpting ) and Chikkatirupathi ( 27 km, a famous temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, a mini replica of the famous temple in Thirumala ) shows their presence.
Some of the prominent personalities are:-
Samethanahalli Rama Rao: - Samethanahalli Rama Rao was a noted kannada author who (November 24, 1917 – October 5, 1999) was born in the village of Samethanahalli which is an hour east of Bangalore near Whitefield. He was also known as Raasa. Being a government servant, he devoted his life as a writer.
Siddavanahalli Nijalingappa (December 1902 – 8 August 2000, Chitradurga) was a senior Congress politician and the Chief Minister of Karnataka (then Mysore State). He was also the freedom fighter as well as taken active part in Karnataka Unification movement.
Some of the Education institutions are:-
Vivekananda High School - is a secondary school in sulebele, and is the only school in its proximity.
