  • The THREATS Of A Painful Ovarian Cyst  By : Mary Parker
Most ovarian cysts are simply functional or benign. However, if they are the hemorrhagic kind they can develop into ovarian cysts that cause intense pain. An ovarian cyst is a small enclosed volume within the ovary with fluids inside contained in a thin boundary. A follicle that exceeds by 2cm the size that is normal is categorized as an ovarian cyst. Other ways of referring to a hemorrhagic cyst are haematocyst; blood cyst; and haematocele. A classic sign of a hemorrhagic cyst is the appearance of pain to the right of the abdomen. Bleeding can occur rapidly and extensively and submerge the entire ovary in a short period to induce considerable pain. Such a cyst is the result of a blood vessel in the system rupturing and blood makes its way into the system. The blood in the ovary can then start to produce clots that can be perceived typically by using a sonogram. Sometimes, a hemorrhagic cyst breaks open and releases blood to inundate the abdominal cavity.

  • Ovarian Cysts After The Menopause: Reasons, Threats And Solutions  By : Mary Parker
Ovarian cysts can still occur after menopause even though this is less frequent than before. Women after menopause with an ovarian cyst that does not respond to conservative management may need to undergo an oophorectomy. In this case the ovaries are removed within a clinical bag so that the system cannot rupture inside the cavity of the peritonea. The recommendation for women after menopause is to take a sonography test for CA 125 using a transvaginal grayscale. Doppler scans, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are all less useful for system detection after menopause. The best solution to understand the situation with ovarian cysts is transvaginal ultrasound because of the increased sensitivity and detail with this method. Nonetheless, transabdominal assessment should be used for larger cysts.

Functional ovarian cysts are essentially minuscule sacs that develop on the ovary while ovulation is in progress. The cyst has the responsibility of holding the maturing egg, and in most instances after the egg has been released, a sac is reabsorbed. If the hole in the sac shuts after the egg is freed or the egg is not released, fluid retention can make it swell up. Home treatment of ovarian cysts is still an unsettled discussion amongst in medical experts.
