To cover the work that we do effectively we need employees with many different skills. The company is divided into four main directorates each providing a different service to our tenants.

In the Property Directorate about 80 joiners, plumbers, electricians and bricklayers carry out repairs and improvements on the properties. They are supported by our teams of Repairs Assistants, Inspectors and Surveyors who assess the work required and check it is carried out to a satisfactory standard. The Stores Department orders all the tools and materials needed to complete the work.

The Housing Directorate is the first point of contact for people wishing to rent a property from Three Valleys Housing. Here, staff deal with people who are on the waiting list and visit prospective tenants to ensure that we match the right people to the right home.

In the Housing Directorate we also have our "Carelink" service which provides a 24 hour care response to our elderly and vulnerable tenants. The call centre with is open every day of the year, can call on our Community Support Workers to make emergency visits and help with tenants who are ill or have had an accident.

Another important section in the Housing Directorate is the Estate Management Team. Their work involves visiting tenants who are not obeying the rules of their tenancies. For example they can be causing a noise nuisance to other tenants by playing loud music at night. Sometimes the officers working in this section have to go to court to evict people.

Our Finance Directorate makes sure our finances are dealt with properly. They pay our bills for the goods and services we use. They also deal with rent collection and those tenants who are unable to pay their rent on time.

The Chief Executive's Directorate oversees how the other directorates are doing their work. Staff in this directorate make sure that the company is performing its duties properly and deal with recruitment, training, health and safety and welfare issues.

To ensure that we talk and listen to our tenants we have a Tenant Participation Officer. We hold meetings with tenants, send out questionnaires and surveys to find out what tenants think of our services.

All jobs within the Company are always advertised in the local papers and the job centre. If you need any advice on other career opportunities we are happy to provide guidance on things such as qualifications and experience that you need for a certain job.Work experience and Apprenticeships

Three Valleys Housing is committed to forging links with the local community and we aim to be able to offer Modern Apprenticeships every year to school leavers. These will be either craft or administration and will be for a period of two years.Advice for job seekers

The job market is very competitive and we have to be quite ruthless in our selection process, so make your application the best it can be by following these steps:

Fill in all parts of your application form. They are all put there for a reason and we need all of the requested information in order to be able to consider your application. CVs are not accepted (unless specified).

The most important part of the application form is the Statement of Application. With your application form you will receive a role template (job description) and also a list of the skills you must have to be eligible for this role. Use this information to write your statement of application. The aim is to match as many of the required skills with skills you have - address each point individually, giving evidence of how you "fit the bill" on each point.

As basic as it may sound, make sure you check your application thoroughly. Ensure your spelling and grammar are correct and your handwriting is legible. It is well worth taking a copy of the form and completing a rough copy first.Package benefits
