Wireless Mouse Issues and their Resolution

Sometime people face problems like while working. The common symptoms of problems are:
1. The mouse pointer motion on the screen is not is not synchronized with the motion of the Wireless mouse.
2. Any of the click buttons did not work when you click on any application.
3. The mouse pointer freezes regularly.
4. Some of the options or tabs are not available in the Mouse item in control panel.

Steps for Troubleshooting Wireless Mouse Problems:
• Defected port could be the reason of the problem. For resolving this issue changes the port where you generally connect the Wireless mouse. Use ports available on the back side of CPU as they offer more bandwidth as compare to the present in the front of the CPU.
• Sometime low power supply is the reason for the frequent Freezing problem with the concerned USB device. It is always advised to use the batteries compatible with or specially designed for electronic equipment. For solution of this problem change the batteries and make sure that they are positioned in the correct direction. After changing the batteries make sure that Wireless mouse is Resync.
• To determine if your mouse is defected check it on the other computer. If the mouse shows the same error then you have to replace your mouse.
• Some of the handy diagnostic tools like Mousinfo diagnostic tool are available on the internet which can downloads form the Microsoft Support website. To use this tool follow these steps:
1. Click on Start Button and then select All Programs.
2. Click on Accessories and select Run.
3. Then in the open Dialog Box type Mouseinfo and select OK.
4. For checking the defect start clicking on the mouse keys to check if they are detected as UP and Down Commands in the Mousinfo.
• If you have inadvertently installed two or more mouse software like Logitech or touchpad software then it can affect the mouse performance and thus can become the reason of defected hardware. For resolving this problem, uninstall the conflicting programs by using the following steps:
1. Click on Start button and type appwiz.cpl in Start SearchBox.
2. Then find other mouse software in this list and uninstall it form the computer by ADD/Remove Wizard.
3. Then Restart the Computer.
• Reinstall the updated version of IntelliPoint software: for removing the Intellipoint software follow these steps:
1. Click on Start button and in Start Search Box type appwiz.cpl then press Enter.
2. Then remove Microsoft Intellipoint form the list.
3. Go to Microsoft Support site Install and download the updated version of Microsoft Intellipoint software.
