The sweet comforts of life are some of the finest luxuries a person can indulge in. There are many different material items one considers when considering comforts and many of them include a specific lifestyle. Among the most popular luxury or comfort items is the wine fridge. For those that love their wine at the perfect room temperature or are collecting and storing wine to age then a wine ridge is a definite must. When you consider getting the perfect bottle of wine at the perfectly chilled temperature there is something very inviting about the thought.

Wine Fridge

A wine fridge is for storing wines and great for homes, offices, shops or restaurants. When shopping for a wine fridge there is a difference between short-term storage (up to two years) and long-term storage. For long term storage, a more elaborate unit should be considered than the standard wine fridge. The advantage of the wine fridge is that it helps to better insulate and provides a controlled environment for the storage of the wine. The humidity level is set between 50 to 70 percent humidity levels which is the best to store wine at and makes for perfect bottle. Humidity level is very important in a wine fridge as to low of a setting and you will find that the cork dries out and too high of a humidity level and mold will begin to grow.

Other factors when deciding upon a wine fridge is the size of the fridge. This is most often based on the consumers needs. One way to determine the bottle count of the fridge is to determine the amount of space that you think you need, and then double it. This is simply because you are likely to add to your collection over time.

The interior of the wine fridge may also vary but you will find that the best units have an aluminum interior which conducts heat and cold much more efficiency. Units that also have a textured, pebbled lining control humidity level much more ideally.

Shelving will also vary from unit to unit but you will find that most tend to have fixed chrome wire shelves. Definitely, you will want to look for shelves that roll out which allows you to read the wine labels and remove the bottle much more conveniently. Glass doors are normally the refrigerator door.

You will find that many of the wine fridges tend to vibrate, due to the compressor within the unit. This is normal and nothing to be alarmed about.

Locks and alarms are also another feature which many wine fridges have. This is simply a means to protect the collection of wine in the home, office, restaurant or shop. Some wine fridges will also have built-in alarms that alert the owner when the door of the fridge is left open or is ajar.

A high quality wine fridge can be purchased for as little as a few hundred dollars and range up into the thousands and can be purchased online with confidence.
