WinRAR Features
WinRAR was initially introduced in 1998. It is an application that can archive, compress, and decompress files. The compressed file extension .rar and RAR file came from the name of its developer Eugene Roshal – Roshal Archive.
WinRAR is a very useful application that can help maximize your disk space and organize your files. It enables large file sharing. It automatically uses the most appropriate compression process for the archived files. This application also offers damage file restoration through data redundancy in forms of recovery volumes and records.

Multi-volume archiving

One of the many advantages of WinRAR is that it provides multi-volume archiving for large files. With the use of “Split to volumes” in the “Archive names and parameters” page of the WinRAR, the user may specify the file size of the divided archive files. The default denomination provided in the size field is in bytes, but the user may opt to add a letter k for kilobytes, K for thousand of bytes, m for megabytes, and M for million bytes (note the upper and lower case of the letters) to change the value of the figures specified. The user may also use the “Autodetect” size when using removable storage for the archive.

RAR password

It is easy to set a RAR password.

1. First, pick the file(s) that will compose the RAR file.
2. Right click on the folder. A drop down menu will shortly follow; then, select “Add to archive”.
3. The “Archive and parameters” box will appear on your screen. Click on the “Advanced” tab and look for the “Set password”. Click on this button.
4. A dialogue box will then appear providing a text field for your desired password. Select “OK” after keying the password; then, click “OK” again as the main screen reappear.
5. A RAR file with a password is created.

WinRAR Unplugged

One of the many benefits of a registered WinRAR user is the lifetime free update of their WinRAR software. WinRAR Unplugged, a portable WinRAR application is free for licensed WinRAR users.
