There are also various reasons why you should quit smoking before it began to show its results. Out of these 4000 chemicals, around 400 chemicals are poisonous and about 50 chemicals are responsible for the cause of cancer. Some of the harmful chemicals contained in cigarettes are nicotine, Tar, Arsenic, Carbon Monoxide, acetone DDT, Ammonia, Hydrogen Cyanide and Formaldehyde. These harmful chemicals are the most important factors for a wide range of harmful diseases cause by smoking. Out of various harmful diseases caused by cigarette smoking heart disease, lung cancer and stroke are the most threatening ones. Smoking cigarettes accounts for about 80% of people dying from lung cancer and 20% for people dying from other cancer types.

You should quit smoking because it may force you to suffer mouth cancer, bladder cancer and stomach cancer. Moreover, it may reduce the function of your lungs due to chronic pulmonary diseases. When you smoke cigarettes, it not only affects your health but also of those who are sitting beside you. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of heart attack and it is linked to vision problems, back pain, diabetes and peptic ulcers. Smoking cigarette during pregnancy may lead to premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth. If you are suffering from asthma and other forms of allergies then you should quit smoking immediately as it may worsen your problems.

When you smoke at home, you are also affected the health of your children. Children are more susceptible to cigarette smoke and they may suffer from breathing problems, middle ear infections, chronic bronchitis and asthma due to your fault. Moreover, your kids are more likely to start smoking at an early age if you are a smoker. You could avoid the harmful effects of smoking cigarettes only when you quit smoking. When you stop smoking you will definitely feel better then before.
