Wolfman Luggage has been around since 1992, and they make some great bags for motorcycles. Years back, I noticed Wolfman’s bright yellow and black tank bags were becoming more and more common all over the country so naturally, I wondered what the draw was to the Wolf. I was preparing for a long touring and dual sport ride at the time and I needed a reliable, waterproof solution to hold all my camping gear and more. I decided to look over Wolfman’s selection and see if they had anything that would fit the bill.
I was happy to discover that Wolfman Luggage offers a broad range of motorcycle luggage, bags and racks. They also offer plenty of replacement accessories for people who are hard on their equipment like I am. Wolfman racks are hard to beat. They make them to fit specific models of BMW, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, Triumph, and Yamaha motorcycles. They’re tough as nails and the bags that fit the racks are made to take a beating as well. They have to since they’re located on the sides of the motorcycle in an area that commonly hits the ground during a tip-over or crash. They get drug over dirt, rocks and pavement as motorcycles hit the ground and are positioned to be picked up.
A lot of manufacturers out there make water-resistant motorcycle luggage. Wolfman Luggage is one of the companies that actually makes completely water-proof luggage in the form of their dry bags. The way they accomplish this is quite simple. They use a burly vinyl that feels nice and thick, but still easily shapes to the contents of the bag. All of the dry bags, from what I can tell, are an open-top design that has four side walls and a bottom. To close the bag, the top walls opposite one another roll down into a tight, water-proof seal that straps down over the top of the bag. This is a simple, yet very effective design that I knew I’d be able to trust from the moment I saw it.
The Wolfman Luggage Expedition Dry Duffle Medium bag was exactly what I needed to store my tent, sleeping bag, mat, chair, light, food, and more. One of the cool things about this design is that you can pack what you need at the beginning of a trip nice and tight on the bike by rolling the bag down to fit the contents. Then, if you have the need to pick up additional items on the road or on the way to camp you just unroll the bag a little, adjust the straps and viola- more room without any slack in the bag beforehand! I’ve ridden through heavy rain through several states across the Western US with this bag and there was never even the slightest issue with its water-proofing or overall toughness. I’ve dropped the bike on the pavement and crashed in the dirt, and Wolfman Luggage has delivered a product that looks like it will be with me for years to come.
