As any experienced winter sport enthusiast will tell you, it’s not just about getting the wardrobe right for the flexibility, style and comfort during your daytime activities; it’s also about making sure your après-sport attire fits the conditions, resort and vibe of your chosen destination.

The great news for the Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 season in women’s fashion is that Parka’s are topping the bill once more, which means designers have been lining up to add their own unique stamp on this cold-weather classic. Five Seasons Tara Winter Jacket combines a hardy waterproof and windproof, breathable shell with a multitude of pockets and belt with fur lined hood for the day, as Peuterey’s more streamline and lighter Black Regina `BG Down Parka comes with zip cuffs and closure, slit and cargo pockets with a high-neck raccoon fur trim for the night time. Joseph bring a loose-fit homage to fur fashion in their khaki Orlando Parka with the back panel showing a mix of rabbit and raccoon with raccoon fur hood and a partial fur lining. Plus this spectator or after-ski desirable comes with adjustable drawstring waist, central hood zip to open out over shoulders, multi-pockets and a waxed cotton finish.

Thanks to much more durable styling products, no longer are the ski set concerned about the adverse effects of hat hair and this is evident with the amount of overtly fun yet practical head gear available for the coming season. Trappers are back and bringing their warmth with them, as these fur-lined lovelies intrinsically keep in the heat. Karl Donoghue’s 100% lambskin leather Trapper is fully fur-lined with front block fur panel, fur bobble and chin strap. Outdoor experts in fighting off the inclement weather and braving the elements, Hunter’s Trapper hat adds a full shearling lining underneath its heritage style suede bonnet with chin strap and side flap attachments, while Woolrich utilise a rabbit fur lining with cotton/nylon mix cap that button-fastens under the chin or atop the head. Emu’s Classic Sheepskin Trapper fastens the ear flaps with toggles and uses merino sheepskin and antimicrobacterial wool for a full lining which retains the heat but reduces the moisture.

In footwear, UGG Australia’s broad range of full fur lined boots lead the pack with a selection of suede or leather outers to choose from, dependent on your levels of rain and snow. Ermanno Scervino brings together knee-high boots with a fur lining and trim with chunky heel and buckle detail to complement the season favourite of skinny jeans, as Jimmy Choo brings his own special foot façade to biker boots, to soften a once aggressive style with the use of frilled fur trims under its suede outer, leather ties and hardy heel to really take on the winter sport season.
