Whether playing the vibrant colour card or accentuating some vintage patterns such as cable knits; this winterís knitwear will have you praying for a much longer season! Popular modes, such as fluffy styles are also teamed with audacious stripes or lively motifs to show your fun side over the festive period.

Bringing the bold on the colour front, Henrik Vibskov adds some primary hues in colour-blocking styles with high ribbed neck and belted features or Levi bring Aztec design to their multi-tonal v-neck jumper. Chloť mix up their multi-colour like an artistís palette on their cashmere and wool-blend sweater with plain, neutral sleeves for contrast or Jaeger go cable knit with a classic texture and marl effect but in exciting cobalt blue for distinction. Burberry utilise the material cupboard with their London Wide Stripe detailed knit that features ruched shoulders and a cute silk collar.

More traditional chunky cable knits in the all-knowing cream, come from Yigal AzrouŽl with their Lattice style and curved hem, Lipsyís cowl neck jumper with buckle detailing, Rag & Boneís almost glowing ivory on their merino wool-blend pullover and J. Crewís handknit cable sweater featuring individually sewn silver bugle beads.

However, the marriage made in snug heaven this season seems to be the warming combination of woolly knits and plush furs. Fur fashion is most definitely back on the trend map and this winter will see it lining and trimming most clothing and accessories on offer, but especially in the realms of knitwear. The mix of these two intrinsically cosy materials on the latest and greatest designs will bring some warming joy to the now rosy-cheeked fashionistas who have previously suffered the cold in the name of style.

Roberto Cavalli show us how itís done in true feminine style with his loose-fit belted wool dress with high collar, ribbed shoulder, hem detailing and wide marmot fur cuffs that reach from elbow to wrist. As do Vicedomini with their long cashmere knit Rex vest with rabbit collar and trims or Miu Miu with their neutral fur gilet attached to its knitted cardigan base.

For coats with a difference, Alberta Ferretti takes a knitted wool/alpaca cropped jacket and adds voluminous rabbit fur shoulders and TopShop add textured knitted sleeves to a fur gilet. While this seasonís hoodies it seems, are just not complete without a little fur lining to warm them up. Contemporary high street favourite Superdry, add fur linings to their Hutch hoodies and Voi Jeans add to hood on Fair Isle pattern knits with the added feature of fur finished bobble cords.

Additionally, traditional winter scene knit cardigans are back with a bang this season like the fur-collared Kayak from Superdry, cropped Saint version from LTB and the Alpaca-blend of True Religionís Buddha knit cardigan with shawl collar and wooden button-down front for a fabulously festive season.
