Transportation Infrastructure Benefits the Real Estate Industry in Jackson Michigan

By: Mark Goedert

The Senate passed a bill in February of 2009 that would provide funds to states and localities for capital investment for surface transportation projects including highways, bridges, transit, and rail projects.

The investment is expected to moderate traffic congestion and support a variety of transportation alternatives to improve the quality of life in American communities and increase the value of real estate.

The goal is to stimulate economic growth and job creation to get the economy back on to the right track. This investment means creating jobs for people to go to work rebuilding crumbling roads and bridges and repairing faulty dams and levees. Upgrading mass transit, building high-speed rail lines will improve travel and commerce throughout the nation.

Highlights of the investment include funds for the following projects:

• Highway and Bridge Construction
• Mass Transit and Public Transportation
• High-speed Rail
• Aviation
• Water and Maritime Administration

Transportation infrastructure pays off in many ways including creating jobs, improving the transportation network; thus, improving the ability for the country to improve and be economically productive.

Knowledge of the transportation infrastructure is important to realtors; it plays a major role in choosing a location to invest in based on life style requirements.
