The founders of Spreety TV Online gave up TV in 2007. Ever since, they have shared their knowledge of how to watch TV anytime, anywhere via the Internet.
Among the many online TV choices listed on Spreety, Syfy (formerly known as the Sci Fi channel)offers an extensive library of current and classic science fiction TV shows online for free. So, Spreety produced a new video to highlight the top tips and tricks for maximizing the Syfy online viewing experience.
The top tips include navigating the Syfy site to find shows on the Syfy rewind player. From the shows, select an episode, and click in the lower left hand corner for full screen viewing. The one wish would be for Syfy to add the option to automatically launch in full screen.
The Syfy TV shows online are Battlestar Galactica, Cha$e, Destination Truth, Estate of Panic, Eureka, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Sanctuary, Scare Tactics, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, and Warehouse 13. Syfy also features some of their original movies online.
So why did the Sci Fi Channel rename itself to Syfy (pronounced Sci Fi)? The most commonly explained reason is that because "Sci Fi" is a genre, it can't be trademarked by an individual company. So, the homophone (sounds the same, but a different spelling) of Syfy was created to make the owners happy.
In addition to the Syfy channel, Spreety.com has a Sci Fi / Fantasy genre page with many more choices to enjoy.
"If people just knew how much TV is online, there would be mass abandonment of the old TV", according to Spreety co-founder Ron Laughton. "We created Spreety to educate people about the legal places to watch free TV online."
The Spreety video is on YouTube titled Syfy TV Online".
