Duct tape is an interesting item to be included in your inventory while camping. A roll of duct tape has a great number of uses on a campsite. It can be used to repair holes in air mattresses. It is also useful for taping up tears in tents, tarps or sleeping bags. Duct tape on your feet can be used to prevent blisters on a long hike. You can also use it to bandage injuries.

Double check your medical insurance. Traveling to a different area may necessitate that you purchase another policy. This is even more of a factor if you travel to another country to go camping, like Canada. Semper paratus doesn't just apply to the military! Be prepared!

Should you decide to bring your dog, pack a long leash and prepare everyone to keep careful watch on the pet. Some people get frightened by dogs. You must respect other campers. Also, because it is a new territory, dogs can get into trouble and cause damage to the site if not supervised.

If you are taking your kids camping with you, make sure you bring a photo of them along. This is the perfect tool in case you can't find them during the trip. Be sure that you have brought one for urgent situations, particularly if your camping destination is quite a ways from home.

When packing for your camping trip, be sure to include water purification tablets. Even if you bring plenty of water you may run out or have an emergency that requires more water, fast. Use the tablets at home to be sure you know what you are doing and what the water will taste like. You don't want to become dehydrated while you camp because you don't like the taste of your water.

Take some things to do while you are inside the tent, or just hanging out at the campsite. Bad weather may show up when you're out camping. You may have to spend a lot of time indoors should it rain. This doesn't mean the trip is ruined. Bring alone a good selection of activities that can be used in an RV, cabin or tent.

You will have now realized that camping does require a little thought. Now you should be prepared to deal with whatever comes up. Now that you have some idea of what to expect, you will be able to focus on having a blast during your trip!
