There are articles on the net indicates that using the 22 KHz switch and 8 way DiSEqC switch simultaneously on Dreambox is possible. Then some of the fans may come up with the idea of using the 8 way DiSEqC switch and 4 way DiSEqC switches on Dreambox at the same time. Is it possible? Let’s read the following words.
First, we just plug in the 8 way DiSEqC switch as the process of plugging in 8 way DiSEqC switches. The 4 way DiSEqC switch should be plugged into the forth interface of 8 way DiSEqC switch.
Then, we get to set the parameters of satellites in DM500. Push the Menu button on the remote controller to get into the Satellite Settings interface. Choose the Substandard Definition Settings option or the Multi – Satellite DiSEqC Switches options. Choose the satellite and align them. For example: LNB0 – 115.5 C, LNB2 – 88C, LNB3 – 134K, LNB4 – 138K, LNB5 – 138C, LNB6 – 146K, LNB7 – 76.5K, LNB9 – blank, LNB10 – blank. Since the LNB0, LNB1, LNB2, and LNB3 are connected to the 8 way DiSEqC switch directly, we set them using the settings that used to set the LNB connected to 8 way DiSEqC switch. The DiSEqC mode should be V1.1, DiSEqC parameter is set to none. What you have to pay attention to is the 5th parameter of the settings: Uncommitted Switch. You have to type in the correct interface number of the LNB, or Dreambox will not be able to discern it. Since the 4 way DiSEqC switch is on the forth interface of 8 way DiSEqC switch, the LNB interface number of the 134K, 138K, 138C, 146K should be 3, 4, 5, 6. The local oscillator frequency of the four LNB should be set to its original data.
Then all the settings is finished, let’s have a look at the process again.
1.#The LNB sequence inside Dreambox should be same as the sequence of the switches outdoor. If you add an extra switch onto one interface, you should align the sequence again.
2.#You have to set the newly added switches’ parameter in Dreambox’ settings.
3.#Some of the fans may have questions that why we don’t choose the DiSEqC mode of V1.0 for the 4 way DiSEqC switch. This is because the 4 way DiSEqC switch is used to add interfaces to 8 way DiSEqC switch, not an independent switch. Only the V1.1 mode can reflect the input interfaces of the four LNBs, and only that it could satisfy the need of using these LNBs.
