This is why I am proud to work for Avon.

So, if I say the words “Avon Cosmetics” to you, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Maybe “Ding Dong Avon calling”, “Avon Lady”, “Make-up”, or even “getting wet in the rain delivering brochures”. What I guarantee you didn’t think was charity work and raising the profile of women’s issues worldwide. Avon has a mission statement which very simply sums ups what Avon in the 21st century represents to it’s Avon reps, and also to others who don’t work for Avon.
This is the company that puts mascara on lashes and food on tables. That fights wrinkles with one hand and breast cancer with the other. That knows the value of a perfect lip, but still opens its mouth and speaks out against domestic violence and for women’s financial independence. This is the company that not only brings beauty to doors, but also opens them. The company that supports approximately 6.5 million Representatives in over 100 contries. This is Avon. The company that for more than 125 years has stood for beauty, innovation, optimism and, above all, for women.
I know it is easy to say words, but there are also actions and facts which back up the Avon Mission Statement. The Avon Foundation for Women was launched in 1955, and since that year, Avon global philanthropy has donated more than $910 million in over 50 countries around the world. Avon is the leading corporate supporter of Breast Cancer research worldwide, through the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. This cause is enthusiatically supported by Avon reps, with regular sponsored walks, pamper parties and in the selling of selected items, which donate a set percentage of their cost directly to the charity. Avon directly employ “Dr Avons”, these are research scientists whose aim is to find a cure for Breast Cancer, and also to continuously improve treatment, until that cure can be found. Avon’s Speak out Against Domestic Violence charity has a goal to help those suffering from abuse of all types, to help them away from their current situation, so they can lead happy lives in the future. Alesha Dixon is a proud supporter of Avon’s Anti Domestic Violence fund raising, and has actively promoted Avon’s Empowerment Necklace, which raises both much needed funds and awareness.
So maybe you can now see why when anyone asks me what I do, I am very proud to say that I work for Avon. Would you like to join us? If so, go to and we can help you to get started.
