The Top Three Wedding Gowns Featured In Movies

For a woman, a wedding is the most important day of her life. It is the end of one chapter and the beginning of a whole new era in her life. She wants to look her best on that day and wants to ensure that when she looks back to her wedding day, she doesn't regret it.

The wedding gown plays a major role in a bride-to-be's preparations for the wedding. It has to be the right gown that will make her stand out on her special day and will ensure that she attracts jealous looks from the onlookers.

Weddings have become more commercialized now and the emphasis on looking good is much more now than it was earlier. Most women want their weddings like the one they see in movies, right from the décor and setting to the gown.

Most designers these days get request from brides that go like "I want a dress like the one XYZ wore in ABC movie." Sure, the wedding scenes in movies these days have some great gowns these days. This article brings to you the top three wedding gowns featured in movies.

1. Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

The much awaited wedding between Bella and Edward was shown in this movie. The entire wedding setup was done beautifully but the spotlight was on Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan. She outshone even Edward, played by Robert Pattinson. The Carolina Herrara dress is made of crepe satin and French Chantilly lace, the back of which was studded with 152 buttons from the neckline to the hemline. The dress cost a whopping sum of $35,000 USD. Replicas of the dress are now being sold at an approximate $799 USD.

2. Monster-In-Law

After a lot of troubles when Charlie and Kevin's wedding day arrives despite Viola's ploys, she tries to ruin it by wearing a dress similar to that of Charlie's. While both the dresses looked good, it was J-Lo's dress that caught people's attention. The wedding dress worn by Jennifer Lopez's Charlie in Monster-in-law was a simple yet elegant design by Seayoung Vu Couture. Made of 100% silk and ivory-white in color, the dress was designed to be sophisticated, simple in silhouette, modern in design and luxurious in feel. The dress would approximately cost anything between $775 USD to $1240 USD.

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

The first cinematic installment of the final book began with Bill and Fleur's wedding. Since Fleur s part-Veela, she had to have a dress that stood out and gave her an ethereal look. Clémence Poésy's Fleur wore an elaborate, layered tulle dress with an over-laid lace design that looked like two phoenixes. The dress designed by Jany Temime was heavily inspired by Alexander McQueen's Autumn/Winter 2008 collection. Since the dress was designed for the movie, it isn't up for sale but a good seamstress good possibly be "inspired" by the design again.
