Wilsonart International is a wholly owned subsidiary of ITW, and operates as a leading manufacturer of decorative surfacing products. These products include Wilsonart Laminate, Wilsonart Solid Surface and Wilsonart Flooring. The company is based in Temple, Texas, and has just celebrated its 50th year in business.
One of the areas of pride and joy in any home is the lasting beauty of its floors. With discount wilsonart flooring, you can be assured of years of satisfaction that will enhance the look and value of your home. These days, many retailers are competing for the homeowners business and are offering exceptional deals on discount Wilsonart flooring, as well as flooring from other premium top-shelf manufacturers. With proper care and treatment, your floors can last as long as you do!
ITW acquired Wilsonart in 1999 as part of a deal with Premark International, Inc., but the company's long and storied history predates this transaction. For instance, during the 1960s, the company's productivity increased tremendously using a strategy that combined a dedicated local work force, top-notch products, and old-time commitment to customer satisfaction.
At one time, the company was called the Ralph Wilson Plastics Company. It was created on the premise of delivering "laminate anywhere in the United States in 10 days or less." To meet this promise, the company purchased and continues to own its own fleet of North American delivery trucks.
A warehouse system, was next created to respond to diverse market conditions and maintain a vast inventory of laminate in close proximity to the customer base. This warehouse system now comprises 15 facilities throughout North America.
Beginning in the mid 1970s, the company sought to create what has grown to the world's greatest network of wholesale building materials distributors. There are currently over 200 independent distributors worldwide.
Towards the end of the 1970s, Wilsonart Laminate became one of the leading brands of decorative laminate in the US. A new plant was added in Fletcher, North Carolina, in 1979 to meet increasing demand for Wilsonart's products. A few years later, Wilsonart built the world's most highly efficient, state-of-the-art laminate production facility in Temple. This facility has since doubled in size. It is now more than 500,000 square feet.
Wilsonart International doesn't only produce its well known, high quality brand of laminates; it also manufacturers its own brand of adhesives to meet the needs of a changing market.
