For most people, gaining weight is not a difficult thing to accomplish. Robert DeNiro gained over fifty pounds for his role playing Jake LaMatta in "Ragging Bull". When you see him in this movie with all of that weight, you cannot even recognize that this is Robert DeNiro because of the extra pounds he put on. It was not easy for DeNiro to get that weight off once he put it on.
Losing weight should be as easy as gaining it. It's a nice thought anyway. It is a simple matter of reducing the calories you consume to lose those extra pounds or is it?
1. Commitment
Your commitment to the weight loss regimen you choose is essential, which ever one you choose, be sure to follow through.
Often, healthy diet plans are created on a formula of certain foods that start a weight loss action. It is not just restricting calories, but a combination. These plans must be adhered to for them to work effectively.
If you are not committed you will not lose weight because this will result in cheating and this is a huge mistake.
If you cheat, you will not be losing weight. Cheating at dieting is only cheating on yourself. Once your resolve has been broken, you really are not on game plan any longer. Your commitment to lose weight needs to be heartfelt from deep within you. If you are trying to lose weight for someone else, the weight loss plan will probably fail you. You can only do this for yourself.
2. Support
You must have emotional support of others, this is the main reason why people stay committed, because they have somebody supporting and encouraging them. Join a forum if you have to, find others that will support you.
3. Extreme measures
It is admirable to be committed to your diet, but taking it over the edge and overdoing it is a big mistake. You might cause more harm than good if you push too hard and you will go right back to where you started.
Most people fail when trying a starvation diet, its not health, so don't starve yourself or you will end up at square one.
If your weight loss plan includes an exercise regimen, and most do, then stick to the plan and don't overdo it. Proper exercise is a wonderful thing but if your body is not ready for jogging 10 miles, then work up to this goal.
You have to prepare mentally for your weight loss plan, so take enough time. Stay committed once you choose the diet right for you. You won't see results immediately, so stay optimistic as it will take some time.
If you are not prepared, then get yourself mentally prepared before beginning your plan.
