VPN Privacy Solution

Communication being the fastest growing technology in today’s world has cradled the most basic smoke signaling and to being the most widely used in our present age. Internet has revolutionized the process of communication. It is being defines as a worldwide network of interconnected group of small networks. It evolved from a local office network somewhere in France and eventually became a worldwide network of networks all over the world. The problem with internet is that in its present state, millions of people are technically advanced and very skilled when it comes to data interception. Interrupting emails and other important data is just a child’s play to them, thus the advent of scammers and spammers.

While this might do well to some, this is clearly an intrusion to privacy. Because of this VPN (Virtual Private Network) was developed. It is designed to make the much publicly used network be virtually private to some who needed for the safety and protection of their confidential documents.

VPN is basically encrypting and decrypting the data to be sent and received through the general public network making it unreadable to other network that don’t have the key to decrypt the data. Making the original data to be read or received only by the proper addressee who has the key to decrypting it. The process for sending data the VPN way is first the data is encrypted meaning it is jumbled in a pattern only the receiving network or station knows. There are software’s and hardware’s develop to implement VPN, but there is not a standard being actually followed like the standard for parallel port or serial ports in a personal computer immaterial of its manufacturer.

There were many technologies or services developed to implement VPN but the most popular ones are the VPN Tunnel PPTP (Point To Point Tunneling protocol), L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol), and VPN Secure: IPsec (Internet Protocol Security). A VPN can support the same intranet/extranet services as a traditional WAN, but VPNs have grown in popularity for their ability to support remote access service

In recent years, many organizations have increased the mobility of their workers by allowing more employees to telecommute where Employees continue to travel and face an increasing need to stay plugged in to the company network. Typically, a corporation that wishes to set up a large remote-access VPN provides some form of Internet dial-up account to their users using an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The telecommuter can then dial a 1-800 number to reach the Internet and use their VPN client software to access the corporate network. It can be better utilized when a company needs a remote-access for a large firm with hundreds of sales people in the field.

Remote-access VPNs permit secure, encrypted connections between a company's private network and remote users through a third- party service provider. The overhead of maintaining such a system internally, coupled with the possibility of high long distance charges incurred by travelers, make VPNs an appealing option here. Added with the security and integrity it can offer with the data being send through the internet, VPN surely will be the future of data integrity and privacy to everybody on the internet who need it the most.
