Plastic surgery is one of the most steadfastly growing medical specialties today with a reported 465 percent increase from the year 1997 to the year 2004, and itís not even showing any signs of slowing down. Cosmetic surgery, for instance, is vastly popular among celebrities and superstars setting up a platform for audiences to desire and follow. Even reality televisions and movies project how extremely popular plastic surgeries are especially for procedures like Beverly Hills liposuction and Beverly Hills tummy tucks. Women across all ages seek cosmetic procedures that promise to improve appearance, and also boost self confidence along the way.

To prove how cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery in general have catapulted to a whole new level of medical dominance, here are some statistics that will tell you how many people would go through surgeries year in and year out.

According to a 2004 statistics, data revealed that 11.9 million surgical and non-invasive cosmetic procedures were carried out, a percentage of which could go to Beverly Hills liposuction procedures. Whether itís a simple filler injection for the lips or breast implants, it only proves that people are willing to go through the trouble and the expense to look good and feel beautiful. It is estimated that there was a 44 percent increase as compared to the previous year, 2003. The increase was almost doubled and additional details report that of the 11.9 million, 18 percent were surgical which included processes like Beverly Hills tummy tucks, breast augmentation and more.

Further investigations showed that 90 percent of the 2004 statistics were procedures involving female patients and clients, it is around 10.7 million. Clearly, cosmetic surgeries are popular among women because it satisfies the need to feel beautiful by molding parts of the body that women are not happy about. While majority of the procedures are purely cosmetic which may include Beverly Hills tummy tucks, there are cases when reconstructive surgeries are performed to restore body parts that were damaged by certain illnesses, and sometimes accidents.

Data also showed that among the numerous plastic surgery procedures, the top five were Beverly Hills liposuction, breast augmentation, eye surgeries, facelift and rhinoplasty. As for nonsurgical procedures, the list of top five includes Botox injections, laser hair removal, chemical peel, microdermabrasion and Restylane injections.

With new constant advances and innovation, the plastic surgery specialty is projected to enjoy an even more aggressive growth for the coming years.
