Tip 1 " Credit cards certainly offer a solution when people are short of cash but need to make a purchase. They are usually offered at extremely low or no interest rates for a short term and this is dramatically increased thereafter. The interest incurred can often become unmanageable and spiral out of control. This in turn leads to repossession of goods and in some cases homelessness. It is sometimes helpful to consolidate all of the debts into one easier to handle, low cost loan and save hundreds of pounds each year.
Tip 2 - When making an essential purchase like a second car or home improvement it can be worthwhile to consider scanning the local classifieds market both in newspapers and online as this can often save you considerable sums of money, time and travel. There are bargains to be had which you may miss out on when purchasing directly from the car dealer or furniture stores.
Tip3 - As we all know the cost of the utilities for our homes has increased substantially over the last year or so. However, if you spend a little time online you may be able to find yourself a new supplier who offers the same as your current one at a much more competitive rate. Often doing the research online you may find that you are able to change over to the new supplier quickly and easily as well and they will then take care of the rest of the formalities.
Tip 4 " When going food shopping at the supermarket always eat before you go and take an itemised list with you, this way you can be sure to avoid buying and in turn wasting food unnecessarily.
Tip 5 " There are many local classified websites and newspapers offering a sound place to advertise your unwanted and unused belongings. Sometimes they charge a small fee and sometimes they are free. Why not give them a go and see if you can make any money out of your old bits and pieces whilst having a healthy clear out at the same time.
Tip 6 " It is always good to scout round for the best deal before renewing your insurance - reason being, there are so many companies out there that might be able to beat your quote.
Tip 7 - When it comes to your holiday arrangements try and book yours as early as possible as this can save you quite a considerable sum each year. Also rather than booking through a travel agency instead try and make all the arrangements yourself. There are hundreds of websites that can help you to book all your travel arrangements at one time and still help you to make considerable savings on each part.
Tip 8 " DIY problems always occur around the home, so rather that calling out an expensive trade man, your best bet would be to try and have ago yourself. If it is too dangerous then obviously call a professional!
Tip 9 " Rather than going out each week and spending, it is important to save some of your wages. Saving is important encase the worst would happen.
Tip 10 " Do not always jump in and make purchases you do not necessary want or need. Hold back on spending and save a little, remember if you can not afford to buy it, leave it.
