Routines to Help You Stay Young-Looking From Head to Toe

By: Pamela Cobb

The fountain of youth is yet to be discovered, but the good news is there are routines you can follow that will help you look young no matter what your age is. Most of these routines involve a simple visit to the salon, but others involve investing time and money in the right skin clinic.

Update Your Hairstyle

Women, in particular, know that the kind of hair you wear can make or break your day. What most people do not realize, however, is that a bad hairstyle can also make you older than your age. To look younger, try to cut the bangs and sweep them on one side. It won't only update your hairstyle, but will also hide those wrinkles instantly.

Wear Less Makeup

Makeup can do a lot of magic and can make you younger-looking, but that depends on how you wear it. The best way to make your face look younger in an instant, though, is by wearing less makeup, or wearing nothing at all.

Whiten Your Pearls

You have never seen a baby with discolored teeth, have you? Discolored teeth is usually a result of smoking too much or drinking too much caffeine and can really make you look twice your age. Whiten your pearls either by paying your dentist a visit or by applying strips that provide instant results.

Get Fuller Lips

Want to look as beautiful and as young-looking as Angelina Jolie? Get fuller lips. The secret is knowing what colors to apply to your lips. Matte colors can make your lips look thinner, so to give the illusion that you have fuller lips, use light, glossy colors instead. It can make your lips look fuller and make you look younger in an instant.

Brighten Your Eyes

The eyes can tell a lot of things including a person's age. Look younger than your age simply by brightening your eyes with the help of an eyeliner. Opt for navy instead of black eyeliner, though. Interestingly, the color can help make your eyes look brighter.

Be an Optimist

Your attitude towards life can affect how you look from the outside. Be an optimist and smile often to keep wrinkles and other signs of aging at bay.

Seal Those Age Spots

Age spots can develop over time as a result of excessive sun exposure. You can have them removed surgically, but if you want a temporary solution that's also effective, try hiding them with the help of an opaque foundation sealed with semi-transparent powder.

Get a Pedicure

Your feet can tell how many miles you've already walked. Keep them young-looking by getting a pedicure once a month. Exfoliating weekly can also be an excellent routine to keep them young and smooth.

Go to Bed an Hour Early

Lack of sleep can cause you to age quickly than you think. A lot of people claim to be able to get by on only five or six hours of sleep, but if you want to maintain that firm and young-looking skin, get at least 8 hours of sleep. It won't only get rid of dark circles around your eyes and perk up loose skin, but will also improve your mood and help you become sharper mentally.

Visit Your Skin Clinic

Finally, make sure you pay your favorite skin clinic a visit regularly. People who visit their dermatologist at least once every two months have younger-looking appearance than those who do not. If you're in Australia, Heber Davis skin clinic is one place you shouldn't miss.
