Personalized Groomsmen Gifts and Other Forgotten Tasks

By: Gen Wright

There are so many twists and turns to take into consideration in the midst of wedding plans and preparations. Personalized groomsmen gifts can take care of some of those forgotten tasks.

It seems that just when you think you have gotten everything taken care of, something else pops up that needs to be done. This is normal in the wedding planning process. Here are some typically forgotten tasks when planning a wedding:

1. Personalized groomsman gifts: grooms, you are going to want to show your appreciation to your attendants, as well. And yes, this does include your Best Man. Again, this is traditionally done during the rehearsal dinner party. There are many things to choose from including pocket watches, flasks, and shot glasses to name a few.

2. Personalized bridesmaids' gifts: brides, you are going to want to show your appreciation to your attendants, including your Maid of Honor (or Matron of Honor if she is married) though the act of gift giving. This is traditionally done during the rehearsal dinner party. There are many things to choose from including jewelry to wear during the ceremony, trinket boxes, and personalized stationery to name a few.

3. Gifts for the spouses: nine times out of ten, your future spouse is going to forget to purchase you a wedding gift. There's no real reason why this happens, aside from the fact that they may not realize this was part of the planning process or they complete forget.

4. Groom's cake: some wedding planners and couples who are planning their own wedding opt not to have a groom's cake. However, there are couples that would have liked to have had one but forgot to add it in with their plans and their budget. These cakes can be presented during the bachelor party, or it can be placed next to the wedding cake. This is completely up to the couple. Sometimes future wives plan a special cake to present to their future husband during the reception as a surprise.

5. Postponing mail and newspaper delivery: while this may sound like an odd part of wedding planning, it actually is an important step if the couple plans to leave for their honeymoon immediately following the wedding. The last thing they want to do is find a pile of wet newspapers (if it happens to rain or snow) on their stoop, or see that their mail blew out all over the place because the box became too full.

As you can see, it is easy to forget some things that actually turn out to be important details. If you are planning the wedding without the help of a wedding planner or event specialist, your best bet it to purchase a wedding planning book, wedding planning binder, or a piece of wedding planning software. There are many different styles to choose from to help accommodate each individual's tastes, habits and desires.

These organizational tools often have too much information, which works out well for those who have difficulty remembering all the little details. These planning tools will also give you gift giving suggestions, etiquette, traditions, and other important suggestions throughout the planning process to help relieve stress and plan for success.
