Personalized Groomsmen Gifts For a More Complete Wedding Plan

By: Gen Wright

Okay, your wedding planning is nearly finished. You have shopped until you dropped for apparel, flowers, jewelry, guest books, pens, favors and so much more. Your head is spinning! And just when you think you're finished planning for your wedding, it comes time to plan for your rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. What? Planning for another event is in order in the midst of planning for this event?! It hardly seems fair!

Take into consideration the fact that the rehearsal is part of the event, of course, so everyone participating will know what's going to happen (or what should be happening) during the ceremony. It's just fitting to serve everyone a nice meal, have something catered, or go to a restaurant following the rehearsal. Remember, they are taking time out of their buy schedules to be part of your special day.

Part of the planning process is purchasing gifts for all of your attendants. You will need something a little extra special for your Maid of Honor (or Matron of Honor if she's married), and the Best Man. However, you can be a bit more basic (but not cheap) with the bridal attendants and groomsmen. Here are some suggestions for personalized bridal attendant gifts and personalized groomsmen gifts:

Personalized Bridal Attendant Gifts:
Silver compact that has been engraved
A bracelet or necklace to wear during the ceremony
Silver trinket box that has been engraved
Personalized stationery or desk set

Personalized Groomsmen Gifts:
Silver flasks that have been engraved
Beer steins that have been etched
Cigar boxes that have an engraved plate on them
Shot glasses that have been etched

It's a good idea to invite the ring bearer and the flower girl along to the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. If these children aren't part of the wedding party's family, don't forget to invite their parents to attend as well. While it is not necessary to purchase gifts for their parents if they are not part of the wedding party, it is necessary to purchase gifts for your ring bearer and flower girl. Here are some suggestions for personalized ring bearer and personalized flower girl gifts:

Personalized Ring Bearer Gifts:

T-shirt that says, "Ring bearer" and has the couple's name and wedding date.
A small pocket watch (to be held by the parents until he gets older)
A set of cufflinks to wear during the ceremony.
A gift that mirrors his tastes (favorite kind of toy, book, or craft project.)
Personalized Flower Girl Gifts:
T-shirt that says, "Flower Girl" and has the couple's name and wedding date.
Tierra to wear during the ceremony
Locket with a picture of her and her parents in it
A gift that mirrors her tastes (favorite kind of toy, book, or craft project.)

Some couples choose to present their parents with gifts during the rehearsal dinner, as well, while others have chosen to present their mothers with a rose during the ceremony. However you want to approach this part of the wedding planning process is up to what you and your future spouse's desires are and what you two are comfortable with. Don't forget to take your parent's comfort into consideration, too, particularly if they are embarrassed easily by such gestures in public.
