The White House, the State Department, and the FBI have all denounced Scotland’s decision to release Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the Libyan terrorist who was convicted of his role in the bombing of Pan-Am flight 103.
The decision was was made on humanitarian grounds, al-Megrahi is dying of prostate cancer. This is certainly more humanitarian than the actions of al-Megrahi and his bosses in Tripoli in murdering the 259 people on board flight 103.
While I believe that al-Megrahi should have been executed for his part of this heinous crime, I find that I cannot condemn the decision of the Scottish government to release him.
Moreover, I am morally appalled at the total hypocrisy of the Obama administration in condemning this humanitarian gesture.
The Obama administration campaigned on a platform of releasing the terrorists currently held by the U.S. military at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, closing the facility down, and gifting it to the government of Cuba.
The Obama administration is currently bribing foreign governments to accept these terrorists into their populations and is also floating plans to release many of these terrorists into the United States.
It is unthinkably hypocritical for this same administration to point fingers at Scotland for releasing one terrorist who is dying of terminal cancer.
Before we throw stones, we should first look at our own (white) house.
