Natural Remedies For Bad Breath

By: Patty Kojima

Bad breath is a problem no one wants to deal with. It can be difficult and shameful. It's embarrassing when people cringe away because of the smell of your breath. Finding a remedy for bad breath is important. The good news is that there are a number of cures for halitosis.
Brushing your teeth, gums, and tongue after ever meal may help bad breath to some degree. At least it will remove food particles on which bacteria feed. This is important because it is the bacteria which release volatile sulfur compounds which are one of the primary causes of halitosis. Flossing, to remove hidden food particles, will also be helpful.
A highly acid environment allows bacteria to reproduce quickly. One cause of your halitosis may be that your mouth is overly acidic. This can also cause an unpleasant bitter or sour taste in your mouth. Adjust your oral ph by neutralizing acid with baking soda. Use baking soda on your toothbrush. You can even add it to your toothpaste. This should help with bad breath issues.
Many people use apple cider vinegar to improve digestion. It can also be used to cure bad breath. Apple cider vinegar is used to control bad breath because it has the same properties as stomach acid and aids digestion.
An insufficient amount of stomach acid will prohibit you from digesting your food completely. Undigested food leads to the formation of smelly gases which can rise up from your stomach to your mouth. To help with digestion, and help with halitosis, take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before or after each meal.
Another excellent bad breath remedy is chlorophyll. Known as the chemical which gives plants their color, chlorophyll can also cleanse your body and assist with digestive problems.
Because some halitosis is associated with digestive problems, chlorophyll added to your diet may be an effective way to get rid of bad breath. Chlorophyll is cleansing and will act like a deodorizer freshening your breath.
