Kettlebell training, efficient workouts in half the time

By: Marcus Martinez

Fantastic fitness results can only be achieved when your time is used more resourcefully. Using your time on muscle-specific exercises (like bicep curls) won't yield the results in overall fitness and fat reduction that you're looking for. You need to maximize your results with efficient exercises.
Kettlebells can provide time-efficient exercises. Anyone who has used one can attest to the limited amount of time it takes to make you sweat. Workouts like the swing, clean, and snatch can get you into shape fast. It could take as little as 10 minutes a day to start.
Popular fitness magazines encourage you to split your workouts down into each body part, however, full body exercises can yield faster results. These exercises include pull-ups, dips, and squats. In addition, using heavy-weights will allow you to build your muscles and increase functional performance.
Below is a full body workout I used for awhile that gave me great results. The key is heavy weights. Obviously, don't go overboard, but with a weight that's heavier than you're used to will burn more calories and increase your strength tremendously.
Workout 1
1a: Deadlift (5x5)
2a: Weighted Pull-up (3x5)
2-2: Weighted Dip 3x5
3-1: Hanging Leg Raise 3x10
C2: Kettlebell/Dumbbell Swing-3x20
Workout B
1-1: Bench Press 5x5
2a: Double Kettlebell or Barbell Clean and Jerk (3x6)
2b: Renegade Row (3x6)
3a: Kettlebell or Dumbbell Get-up (Right Arm)
3-2: Kettlebell,Dumbbell Get-up (Left)
4a: Jump rope intervals (10 Minutes)
For a month, use Workout A and B every three days a week. This routine combined with a good diet and one or two cardio sessions will yield improved strength and rapid fat loss. Using these full-body exercises will hit all the muscles that would be hit with muscle specific workouts.
Are you ready to get a killer workout in minutes rather than hours? Kettlebells let you hit your entire body using exercises that build both muscle and functional strength.
