It is also describes as people skills because it involves using skills such as active listening, tone of voice and attitude. Interpersonal skills are all about how well you communicate with someone and how well you behave or carry yourself. The term Interpersonal skill is often used in business matters as the measure of a person’s ability to operate within business organizations through social communication and interactions. It is a kind of skill on how people relate to one another. It helps greatly in enhancing your personality as well as further your career.

In the former, the rules of interaction are set down by social customs and traditions, but in the latter situation, the social norms no longer regulate the relationship. The relationship that was impersonal at the beginning may turn into interpersonal where one person is the sender and the other is the receiver. Having positive interpersonal skills increases the productivity in the organization since the number of conflicts is reduced. In informal situations, the flow of communication becomes easy and comfortable. People with good interpersonal skills can generally control the feelings that emerge in difficult situations and can respond effectively and deal appropriately. This ability helps a person not to be carried away by emotion.
Psychological behaviorists say that, “Socialization is a process of learning the skills facilitating communication and interaction with others.” One must consider his verbal or non-verbal ways of communication properly, that helps create social rules and relations. According to Schneider and Bryne (1985) who conducted a meta-analysis of social skills training procedures (51 studies), process for training social skills had the largest ratio and effect! There are many theories related to it, such as Aggression or Anger Management, Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Behavior Analysis, etc.
