Ingredients Used in Herbal Body Wraps

6. Olive Oil – Olive Oil contains a good amount of Vitamin E that helps skin in the natural production of collagen. It also contains Vitamin K, which helps reduce the appearance of spider veins and dark patches in the skin. It is also said that olive oil helps delay or inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.

7. Lavender – The benefits of lavender are rather based on the calming and uplifting properties present in them. This essential oil is also known to relieve stress and brighten up ones mood. Mixing lavender in body wrapping solution is done because of the pleasant smell it produces as it mixes well with other herbs.

8. Clay – Clay is more used as a base or carrier of herbal ingredients rather than an ingredient itself in body wraps. Clay is also known to help draw the toxins from the skin. Different types of clay will suit different skin types such as bentonite clay for oily skin or pink kaolin to help moisturize sensitive and dry skin. The most common type of clay is yellow kaolin which is best for normal skin types.

Most of these herbs are made using their powdered form. Distilled water is also used as a base to mix all the herbal ingredients together. While these mentioned ingredients are the most common herbs found in body wraps, there are other herbs that can easily take the place of one component.

Making a unique formula for a body wrap is a very complex undertaking. It is important for the different ingredients to work together in synergy. Or else, they might not provide the desired results. While many manufacturers encourage do-it-yourself body wraps, nothing beats wraps that are professionally mixed to attain the best solution for a body wrap for a person’s particular body type. The best body wraps are the ones created by professionals that are educated in the proper procedures of making body wraps.

Herbal body wraps are typically all-natural, making them practically safe to use in body wraps. However, it is important to remember that there are certain herbs that may cause skin irritations or allergies in some people. Some spas and massages salons also use synthetic and strong chemicals that they mix into the ingredients to make a body wrap. It will then be best to avoid undesirable reactions by testing the ingredient first on a small area of the skin. Most spas and massage salons would allow this before the client engages in a full body wrap.

While the benefits provided by the herbs of body wraps may not be the prime benefit of such treatments, the relaxing and stress-serving effects of herbal body wraps may be reason enough to try them. The combination of the right ingredients will not only ensure optimal results, but it will also provide an exceptional experience that would be something to convincingly look forward to.
