The internet has, without a doubt, not only changed our lives, it has even become a part of it. Most of us go to the web for different reasons - gaming, networking etc; but broadly speaking, when we need to find something, and find it fast - the internet is the first place we go to for answers.. Whether it's for gaming, networking, socializing or anything else that we are looking for, the internet has given us with information and advise that has proved beneficial.
When I attended my very first internet marketing seminar, I had no clue what the speaker was talking about when it came to the topic of SEO, or Search Engine Optimization (which I suspect she herself has little knowledge about).. So I did my own research on this little-known but important topic in the following weeks, and was immediately struck by the intensity and extensiveness of the study and research that has gone into this matter.
And one of the strategies of improving your website rankings so that your website appears on Google first pages is to increase the number of links from other reputable websites to your website - and article marketing does exactly that i.e. helping you get more to your website Some have even created sites devoted entirely to providing articles that could be read by their website visitors and have links that could lead to many sites that are related to the topics and subjects of the articles.
Take the case of a website that contains articles on a wide range of topics. At the end of each article in an article directory is a resource box that allows the reader to the website to link back to the website that the article originated from. Lets say if the article is about rotating the tires, the resource box may lead to a link to a site that sells tires or car parts.
Right at the bottom of an article is the resource box. In the resource box, you will normally find the name of the author, a short outline about the author and a hyper link to the website where the article was extracted from. If a visitor finds the article useful and informative, he or she is likely to click on the link so they can access to more information or related articles. What the resource box does is that once the visitor clicks on the link, it takes the user right away to the website where the article can be found alongside other articles which the user may have an interest in .
But like the article itself, the resource box must also be eye-catching to attract the attention and interest of the reader. Though space is limited, using the right keywords and interesting content in the resource box will make the reader more intrigued and click the link to your website.
What benefits can we enjoy with a well-written content in the resource box? Mainly its driving traffic to your site. Many sites are happy to have articles posted on their sites because it adds more content to their pages. They also get affiliation with other sites that can be beneficial for them as well. For the sponsor site, the resource box helps to generate traffic when readers click on the link and become potential customers.
So what should you put in your resource box after you finish your article? Basically it is keywords, learning about the proper keywords that people are mainly searching for. What are the right keywords to use? I suggest using Google Adwords Keywords Tool - it's a very powerful tool developed by Google to help users check the most searched keywords.
Resource boxes can also make use of all the ingenuity it can get. Since space is limited in the resource box, why not make the best of it? A well written content in a resource box will attract more readers to your website that is linked to your article. There's no visual aids to use - unlike what you get on TV - but you can however, make use of your creativity. With the appropriate content, you too can create an impression on your readers.
Make use of keywords that are related to your website. Build trust to attract more visitors to your site and check out your offer; there's nothing worse than misleading your visitors. A well-crafted content will not only create an impression, but also attract users to click on the link to your website. You have but one chance to catch their attention, but lots of chance to turn you away.
The resource box may be small in size but it can help to drive traffic to your site. Give some thought to what you should put in your content; don't settle for just plain and simple. Spice it up; make it interesting for your readers and at the same time, make it known that you have something great to offer to them. There are many other tips and guides that can help you drive traffic to your website - the first step is understanding how a resource box works and its importance in directing people to your site.
