How to Avoid Getting Your Articles Deleted.

As the owner of several large paid directories it never ceases to amaze me why so many articles are submitted that will never get accepted. The various authors obviously spend a lot of their time writing these articles, presumably for the reason that they want to get them published, so why not go the whole way…. and make sure that they get published?

We receive thousands of new articles every day, so why would we publish those authors that do not follow a few simple rules?

The following is a list of various reasons why we do not publish an article. Articles that make the following mistakes will all be deleted by our article directories.

No Full authors name:
A simple request to have the authors name, often results in the use of an author just using initials, their company name, or even a mixture of both. How many times do you thing we see “Webmaster”…… as the author? We need a name to associate with the article, and it must be an article that you have written, or has been written exclusively for you!

Misspelling in the title: (Check your title!)
The title of an article is very important; it is how the large Search Engines like Google find the article. Placing a badly spelt article title does nobody any good. Make sure that the title makes sense, and is written in English.

Duplicate titles:
Get yourself a “unique” title! Do not copy someone else’s title, or change the words around. Make the title unique to you! You can check it with Google once you have thought of it by going to their Search area and searching like this “My New Article Title”. If other articles already have that title then think of something different.

Duplicate and badly spelt content:
Do not just change the title, and use the same content inside. This is a sure way of having your articles all deleted…. even the good articles will go too.
It is easy with auto spell checkers to check your article has all of the correct spelling. Spend a little time doing this, or again your article will get deleted.

Short articles:
An article should be informative to anyone that reads it, and “normally” it would run to around 500 words or more. A very common mistake that we find is that many authors submit an article with too few words in it. As a general guide try to keep to a minimum word count around 500, make it informative and do not repeat your self.

Inserting links in the wrong areas:
Most article directories tell you where you can place links, and how many you can insert. Normally, these must be placed in an area that has been specifically designed for you the Author only. With us it is called the resourse box. It could also be called the Authors Box etc. Here we want you to write something about yourself, your website/s, and this is also where you enter links to your sites. Our directories allow up to three links here. Do not put links in either, the Title of the Article, the Summary of the Article, or the Body of the Article.

Selecting wrong categories:
Selecting the wrong category for your article…. means that you really should have not bothered to write it! If you are looking for visitors to visit your site about “Home Business” then it will do you no good at all if it is listed under the category “Home Improvements” or some other category that has nothing do with what your article is about. Pick not only the right category, but also the right SUB-CATEGORY! The more specific you are with your articles, and the categories that you use, the better chance you have of your articles being found.

Links must relate to the content:
If the links that you insert into the Authors resource box are about “Travel” then make sure that your article is about “Travel”, and not to a site that is completely un-related.

Mass submissions of the same or similar articles:
It is quite a common mistake to take an article and “Spin it”! What this is “supposed” to do is to enable you to submit multiple articles, all slightly different. I agree it does change the article in a small way, so that it will then be “slightly different” to the previous article. However, we will delete any articles that we receive that we consider have been “spun” in this way. We feel that it serves no useful purpose to anyone to have many copies of the same or “similar” articles published.

Sending an advertisement, not an article:
If you want to promote your company, or your website, then write an interesting Article that other readers will find either enjoyable or can learn from. Do not send an Advertisement for your company or website! Sending in something like “Buy A Honda Car From Essex Motors”, will result in getting it deleted. However, if you write something interesting about the Honda Car, and then add your details, company website in the Resource Box, then it will not be deleted.
