How To Really Tick Off Google

As tempting as it is to push your web marketing and SEO programs to the limit, It's important to remember that sometimes web marketers push a little too hard, and Google strikes back. When Google get's angry, they can pretty much shut down all search traffic to your site. That can definitely hurt!

In order to avoid getting banned by Google, you should try to begin looking at Google as a partner in your business. They can easily send tons of traffic your way, and they don't mind you optimizing to help them index your site. Playing by their rules may be a little slower, but is obviously safer than trying to skirt the Google guidelines.

The main thing that angers Google is when you try to deceive them or their users into thinking that your site is something other than what it really is.

For example, some webmasters use "cloaking" to hide the real content of their web sites from Google. This is a HUGE No-no, and will get you banned quicker than a New York minute.

Another quick path to oblivion is using invisible text on your website so that the search engines see something different than your visitors.

Finally, blatant keyword stuffing can get you penalized by Google.

If you want to be successful in the web marketing area, you really do need Google in your corner. Rather than angering and alienating this powerful ally, you should enter into a mutually beneficial relationship where you not only get, but give. Give Google your honesty, your consideration and your true friendship. Help them to do their job well, and they will reciprocate.
