How To Fix a Paper Stuck in a Printer Part 1-3 one-three

Today we are going to teach you how to repair a printer so you do not have to rent a scanner because it's the largest office supply you have and can be a giant pain. Let begin by getting rid of all the extra paper at the output bin, and the priorty slot, the priorty slot is the main input tray and the slot above the input tray. Turn to the back of the printer. Press the power button to turn off the copier. Unplug the power cord and wait for the copier to cool. Return to the front of the scanner. Open the printer cartridge door. Look in the printer for the printer cartridge. Using the handle in the middle of the faxes cartridge remove the cartridge from the scanner. This all depends on the model. To get the exposed paper out use both your hands to avoid ripping of the paper and pull evenly. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the scanner then more paper jams will likely happen. Once all the paper is removed you can then re-insert the cartridge back into the printer. Then shut the printer cartridge door. Finally, load paper into the input tray until it stops. Change your paper width guide until it stops at the end of the paper. Do the same for the length guide as well. Do not push either guide in so tightly that it bends the paper. Depending on your model some faxes have a retry option on them. If the page prints successfully then the issue has been fixed. If the page doesn't print then go on to the next step.

Sometimes the printer needs to be reset to clear the paper jam error. Reset the multifunction printer by going back to the back of the printer & pushing the power switch off or unplug the power cable. Once the power is off wait at-least 30 secs. Then plug the cord back into the printer & turn it on. reprint the file from the computer or press retry on the error message.

Many times the condition of the paper or the way it's feed in can cause paper to get stuck. You will notice the paper gliders both width and length slide them to their max. Find the stack of paper you're looking for & glance it over to see if theres no issue with it. Get rid of any damage paper you can see. If you see any ripped, wrinkled and/or curled sheet of paper. Make sure that there are atleast ten sheets of plain white paper, but, no more than twenty-five sheets of paper in the faxes stack. The multifunction printer can hold more sheets of paper, but this number is best for testing. Be sure the paper is the same type and size then line them up proper.

Lastly, load the paper in the input tray until it stops. Move the paper guides in the multifunction printer until it fits snugly. Repeat for the paper length guide as well. Do not push either guide in so tightly that it bends that paper. Press retry on the error message or attempt to print from the primary document. Try to reprint from your computer or press retry on the faxes next to the error message. When the page prints then your good. If the page does not print then go on to the next step.

Next, we'll be certain that the paper settings in the scanner match the correct settings. Open a document from the faxes your trying to print from on your PC. Select the file, click print and then click properties, and if the properties dialogue box opens. Take a glance at the the paper/quality tab, find the size theres a drop down menu and choose the correct paper type, click okay two times to print the document Your finish if the paper prints accurately. If not then go on to the next step.

Generally, when a paper jam occurs its because of the toner, paper or dust elements can clog up in your your printer and cause a jam. In this step we'll clean the copier. 1st, all enter & exit points of the multifunction printer should be examined for loose particules. This includes the main input bin, output bin & the slot located above the primary input tray.

Turn the copier to the back. Press the power button to turn off the scanner, Remove the power cord and let the faxes cool down. Return to the front side. Open up the faxes cartridge door, look within the multifunction printer for the printer cartridge using the handle in the middle of the cartridge lift straight out to remove the cartridge to from the multifunction printer. Set the cartridge on a flat surface & cover it with a sheet of paper multifunction printer. When you cover the multifunction printer cartridge you limit the exposure to UV lights which could cause damage. Grab a lint free, dry cloth to wipe the inside of a printer. Using the cloth, wipe down any residue from the paper path area or the cartridge cavity. Be careful not to touch the black sponge tranfer roller, because if you do you can risk the scanner from functioning properly.

Once, you're finish cleaning the paper path area & cartridge cavity you can reinstall the printer cartridge. Shut the printer cartridge door. Flip it to the back, re-connect the power cord. Turn the multifunction printer on by pressing the power button/switch. Now lets go back to the front side. Afterwards, put the paper into the input tray up until it stops. Move the paper width guide so that it stops at the edge of the paper. Do the similar thing for the paper length guide too. Do not push either guide in so tightly that it attempts to bend the paper. Finally, print from the oringal document from the printer or press the retry button.
