The world of decoupage and, more in general, of the hobby industry, includes both professionals and people who consider these activities as hobbies. In the latter case people decide to do some kind of manual activities because they like to spend their free time doing something that permits them to gain a manual ability that nowadays is getting lost, and that allows them to express their creativity, which otherwise could not be expressed during the boring everyday routine. On the other hand we find those people who consider a manual activity as their own job, and who have succeeded in turning a simple hobby into a means of earning money.
The Hobby Show is the ideal space for both categories of people, who will have the opportunity to get in contact with the latest innovations of the field, and to enjoy various kinds of activities. The fair, indeed, is the most important event of this kind in Italy, and it attracts over 70,000 visitors all around the country. Italy, indeed, hosts 4 editions of the fair throughout the year, in 3 different cities: Milan (where 2 editions of the show take place every year), Rome and Naples. In particular, you cannot miss the fair in Naples, since it will be the last edition of 2008, and consequently this will be the last chance, for this year, to discover the most interesting innovations in the field.
The fair, which is organised by the association Solar Energy Group, was realised for the first time in 2003 in Milan, and it was meant to be an important expository space and showcase for all that is connected to the world of creative manual skills, but it was also intended as a meeting point for professionals of this sector. So far the Solar Energy Group has organised 20 editions of the fair, attracting an ever-growing number of visitors and exhibitors (around 370 only in 2008). In particular, the Hobby Show is the ideal space for firms, which have the opportunity to expose their products in front of a big number of people, for those associations that are interested in promoting and supporting the learning of manual skills, the development of creativity and the revaluation of handicrafts, and for the lovers of manual activities, who have the possibility to get to know new materials and techniques, and to improve their own capacities in this field. The most important sections are; decoupage, rock painting, bijoux, cross-stitch, painting on tissue, patchwork and ceramics.
Everyone will find something fit for them, and visitors will not only have the possibility to see the latest innovations, on the contrary, they will also have the chance to test them directly: the fair, indeed, will also host various object lessons, as well as courses and workshops of all levels (there will be over 3000 events), which will permit people to get to know various activities and, as for people who already have some experiences in the field, to improve their abilities.
A chance for professionals but also for those who wish to find an amusing way to spend their free time and to learn to express their creativity.
