If you enjoy cycling then here’s an opportunity to cycle and raise funds for a noble cause. Capital to Coast is calling you to participate in their charity bike ride to raise money for their partner charities Norwood and Down Syndrome Association. Both these charity organizations support children with Down Syndrome and learning disabilities. The organizations work hard to provide valuable services for people affected with Down Syndrome and learning disabilities because they firmly believe that given the right help and right emotional support, these individuals can enjoy a happy and full life.
So Capital to Coast is trying to benefit these organizations by conducting sponsored bike rides and raising funds. This London to Brighton bike ride will be taking place on July 1st, 2012. The routes are 75 miles (London to Brighton), 60 miles (Surrey to Brighton), 60 miles circular (Brighton Circular Route) and 30 miles (Sussex to Brighton).
All routes will be clearly signposted and marshaled, with refreshment spots throughout the journey too. In addition all rides will have first aid as well as mechanical support.
To enjoy and finish the ride in good condition you’ll need to make some preparations. Check if your tyres are hard and the seat is set at a correct height. Also check that the chain is clean and lubricated and if every nut and bolt is secure. Equally as important are the brake pads for wear and tear.
Now if you’re ready to travel through the scenic routes of London to Brighton then all you have to do to participate is pay a small registration fee. This fee will be £40-50 for adults. Charity bike riders above 16 should raise at least £200 and those below 16 should raise at least £100. Capital to Coast also gives you a chance to cycle with colleagues as you can set up a corporate team, which can greatly boost your company’s profile.
The team registration fee will be £250 and team members can vary anywhere from 6 to 15. Each team rider should raise a minimum of £150. You can also raise funds as a regular team rather than individually.
Each participant of this charity bike ride will also get a free LA Fitness 5 day gym pass and whoever raises £200 or more will be eligible for entry into a free prize draw for the chance to win £500 of Giant Radlett bike shop gift voucher. The rides will be total fun and not too crowded, so you won’t feel under any intense pressure. There’s no hurry, you can finish up the ride at your own pace, taking breaks and enjoying the ride.
