Fishing is an act of catching fish. It typically happens in the wilderness. There are many techniques of fishing some of them including netting ,spearfishing,angling,tapping,hand gathering.
As the FAO(Food and Agriculture organization) suggests that approximately there are 38 millions of commercial fishermen and fish farmers. The worldwide capita consumption of fish was 14.4 kilograms from wild fisheries in the year 2005 plus 7.4 kgs were reaped from fish farmers.In the modern times besides providing food, wild fishing is also leisure hobby.
Finland is a country with nature at it best. The most of the surface of Finland is covered by lakes and forest. As every other country Finland has its clear,pure water which caters abundant varities of fish species and fishing waters. Leisure fishing is one of the most significant activity for Finns. Approximately 2 million and more people participate in the fishing events at least once a year which is almost 40 percent of Finnish population.
There are many fish species in Finland but perch,roast and pike are the most common ones which are also copious in nearly all the waters. Salmonids are the most common due to cold weather conditions in Finland.
In a country with thousands of lakes the center of the country the lakes are so many that the area is called Lake Finland. The species targeted by fishermen are Pike, pikeperch, perch, brown trout and lake salmon.
Since Finland has four different seasons. The fishing is beneficial during the open water season although the spring and autumn are the best. In winter most waters are frozen which creates an exceptional experience.
