Exercise And Why Its Good For You

In a world where taxing physical labor has been steadily replaced with sedentary job positions many people are getting less exercise than ever before. In some estimates in the United States put the overweight portion of the population as high as two thirds. This is an alarming trend and one that will likely not see any alleviation as machines replace people for physically demanding jobs.
Regular exercise has many benefits. One of the principle reasons to keep in shape is for your heart. Heart disease is closely related to obesity. Regular exercise helps to strengthen the heart which in turn greatly lowers your susceptibility to developing heart related conditions or suffering heart attacks.
Weight is also a factor in developing diabetes. Regular exercise to keep your weight down significantly improves your chances of not developing this disease during your lifetime.
Regular exercise is also good for building lean muscle. Many people consider a muscular look to be attractive. Aside from that however having a developed muscles can improve balance and help you to avoid things like falls or to even recover more quickly from certain types of injuries.
It is important to note that improper exercise or "over doing it" can not only cancel most or all of these benefits but can cause a person real physical harm. Diet also has to be considered as a good diet goes hand in hand with regular exercise in keeping a fit and healthy body.
Exercise can be fun and doesn't have to dominate your free time. A 30 minute workout three times a week and a decent diet is enough for many people to maintain a thoroughly healthy lifestyle. Many of the aforementioned gyms and exercise groups offer services that will tailor a program of exercise and diet to meet an individuals needs. You should also check with your doctor to make sure that your exercise regime isn't going to damage your body.
