Interviews, particularly job interviews for dream jobs are no cakewalk. Many times, the inquiries during these interviews can make even any veteran prospect nervous. From the company's perspective, the role of all such interview inquiries is to find out as much as it can about the person under consideration. You will need to keep in mind that the more the job interviewers want to learn about you, the better would be the chances to wrap up the interview successfully. The inquiries can be very tough and you will have to be equipped to respond to them in an unperturbed manner.
It is important that you don't get tense and create mental blockades about the problematic enquiries even prior to coming into the interview room. In my opinion, the most problematic questions are usually the more vague questions like 'tell us something about yourself' as they demand more time to think in order to give the best answer. You will have to keep in mind that you'll stand any chance of clearing your dream job interview only if you are able to respond to all questions speedily without taking a lot of clock time to think. Taking a long time results in a very wrong impression in the minds of job interviewers. It shows that you are unsure about your plans and what all you would like to do in life.
The job interviewers, apart from observing your confidence and correctness of the answers, are concerned about the fact that whether you're convinced with the answers yourself or not. Anyone who replies with pessimistic answers to the questions surely can rule himself/herself out of the quest. People don't prefer to have pessimistic fellow workers in their environments. Wouldn't you like working alongwith someone who's ardent about his/her duties and eagerly looks ahead to every day at office.
Just In Case you need some time to respond to a certain question, you must courteously ask the interviewers for a couple of minutes to ponder. They too empathise that certain queries can be uncomfortable and require time to answer. Job Interviewers are humans just like all of us.
The simplest questions can sometimes look the most problematic if it's a dream job interview that you're appearing for. For Example if you are inquired about your strengths during the interview, though you might be well aware of the abilities that set you apart from everyone else, the nervousness can make you uneasy at that minute. It's crucial that you gather yourself and take a long breath. Try thinking out of the box and envision different situations based on the queries that might be asked.
Never enter your dream job interview with an uncertain state of mind. Simply because you are very tenured and have scores of experience to demonstrate on your CV doesn't mean that you can throw your weight around. Unless you display a positive outlook, the interviewers will not take any interest in taking your candidature forward.
