Now, the good news is that your nephew and niece will be celebrating their fifth birthday in less than a couple of months and you can’t wait to see them. The bad news is that your nephew and niece will be celebrating their fifth birthday in less than a couple of months and you don’t know what to give them.
It is said that there always seems to be two sides of the coin, and while you wouldn’t claim to be an expert on it – or on a lot of things, for that matter – it has certainly held true for many aspects of your life. When you were younger you used to wonder if you had an eccentricity in your personality of some sort. After all, you found yourself being ecstatic one minute and being sober the next, excited for awhile and then a few minutes after rattled with anxiety.
But when you got the hang of it – which took years, if you have to be honest with yourself – it’s actually quite a refreshing knowledge for you to be able to weigh both sides of the situation on a relatively short amount of time. Here’s a good example: you put yourself through college on a full scholarship. Those seemingly endless four years spelled out long days going from one class to another, and even longer nights studying for exams and working on projects. Whenever you aced a test, you naturally felt elated upon receiving your paper, but then a moment later you’d feel dread slowly creeping up on you. Sure I did well on this one, you’d tell yourself, but what about the next one? Will I be able to maintain a good score?
Then it hit you: there really wasn’t any point agonizing over something that had yet to happen. So you gave yourself a decent break by catching up on your sleep and hanging out with your friends before hitting the books again, and that strategy somehow weaved its magic. You discovered it was considerably easier to maintain your grades that way – not to mention a lot more fun. Of course, to say that your university days was smooth sailing would be the understatement of a lifetime, but a relaxed attitude did let you view it as a fun challenge instead of a daunting task, and that was certainly refreshing.
Fast forward several years later to the present. You’re now an accountant working for a well-respected accounting firm in the city. You’re not married yet but you’re not in any hurry. Why would you be, after all, when you have your cute-as-buttons twin nephew and niece? Now, the good news is that your nephew and niece will be celebrating their fifth birthday in less than a couple of months and you can’t wait to see them. The bad news is that your nephew and niece will be celebrating their fifth birthday in less than a couple of months and you don’t know what to give them.
