Cape Town - A Good Vacation In South Africa

There are many wonderful and unique places in the world to take an international vacation to. If you are trying to decide where to go on your next overseas voyage, consider traveling to Cape Town, South Africa. South Africa is home to many interesting attractions and cultural history. If you are planning taking kids with you on your international vacation, it is important to remember their kids passports. You are not allowed to travel outside the United States for any reason without having a valid United States passport. Passport Needs



Passports allow for American citizens to travel abroad. They act as travel documents and identification. Without a passport, entry into a foreign country may be difficult to obtain. Cape Town was the very first European establishment in South Africa. It was founded in the year 1652 and was mainly used as a Dutch supply station for ships passing the area. The city, very rapidly, become an international business hub. There are now many different cultures that make up the population of Cape Town. It is a wonderful place to go and explore for tourists looking for a unique and exciting travel destination. In fact, Cape Town is one of the most racially diverse places in the entire world.



Things To See



Some must see sites in Cape Town include; Bo-Kaap, The Castle of Good Hope, Two Oceans Aquarium, Robben Island, and the Rhodes Memorial, just to name a few. Bo-Kaap is a neighbourhood that is known for its colorful buildings. The Castle of Good Hope is South Africa's oldest in tact building. The building commenced in 1666 and continued until 1679, it is also featured as a restaurant and cafe. In addition to many sites and attractions there are also plenty of museums to visit. There is the Bo-Kaap Museum, the District Six Museum, the Groot Constantia Estate, the Slave Lodge, the South African Jewish Museum as well as the South African Maritime Museum.



Other Things To Do



Cape Town offers many sites and attractions as well as museums; there are also plenty of other activities to enjoy. Mountain climbing, hiking and surfing are very popular as well as kite surfing, swimming, deep sea fishing, and many people enjoy shark cage diving. Wine tasting is also a very popular activity. Cape Town also offers safaris that will give a special glimpse of the wild animals that Africa has to offer. There are activities for everyone in the old port.
